All new player who need Adena, look here!
Well this is just a copy & paste text following but I thought it would be good for all new players what ways there are to earn money in L2 (except not using SS).
There are some different ways:
Lucky drops
Playing the market, dont underestimate this (buying cheap, selling with profit)
Get an Scavenger alt
Events (as the pig-event right now)
Fishing
Manor system
I will post some info below about fishing and manor.
Manor System
A manor is the area in which the lord of each castle has a productive effect upon his own territory. He sells seeds in his territory and carries out productive activities with the seeds that are sold.
Sale of Seeds
Seeds sold in one's own territory bestow monsters with the ability to produce farm products. The types of farm products that can be produced by a monster vary according to the seed types. The types of seeds that can be made, as well as the maximum amount sold, are fixed according to the manor.
The lord of the castle chooses the types and quantities of seeds to be sold by NPCs and chooses how much to sell to consumers. Then, the castle lord is notified by the NPC how much adena he needs to invest. Depending on how many are sold, the unit price for each seed is then decided; the unit price goes down as the quantity goes up. The seed and item compensation prices may be viewed by speaking with the particular castle's Grand Chamberlain.
The manor NPC announces the sale of seeds at the consumer price at the same time that the invested amount is taken from the castle warehouse. If there is not enough money, the sale of seeds on that day is cancelled. It is not possible to sell during a siege.
Players can purchase seeds from the Manor Manager of their particular territory. In order to prevent hoarding, one player cannot purchase all of the seeds.
The amount earned from selling through the seed-selling NPC is brought each day to the castle warehouse, just like taxes.
Sowing and Harvest
Players that have completed their purchase of seeds can use the seeds after targeting monsters in their particular territory.
Sowing is not possible for PCs, village NPCs, and guardians.
Monsters in which someone has already sown cannot be sown again.
Sowing is only possible for monsters within the respective territory.
In the event that that there is a difference of up to +/- 5 levels between the level of seeds used and the respective monster, then sowing has a high chance of success, but after that, for each difference in level of 1, the probability of success is reduced by 5%.
In the event that that there is a difference of +/- 5 levels between the level of monster and character, then sowing is 100% possible but after that, for each difference in level of 1, the probability of success is reduced by 5%.
If sowing is successful, an item is produced in the body of the monster. Items are not always produced even when sowing was successful.
Party members are shown a success message when sowing is successful.
Monsters for which sowing was successful do not drop items other than adena.
In order to prevent the sowing by low level players but then the harvesting by high-level players more quickly, the evaluation of levels takes place again at the harvesting stage and when comparing the level of the monster and harvester, if it is within the range of +/- 5 levels, the success rate is very high and then the probability of success falls by 5% for each greater difference of one level. If harvesting is unsuccessful, the item disappears.
Sowing and Spoil can be used together. This means that a monster it hat has already been sown can also be spoiled, and it is also possible to sow a monster that has been cast on with Spoil.
If a player succeeds at sowing, an item can be acquired using a harvester on the corpse of the monster that was sowed. Harvesters can be purchased from the Manor Manager.
Purchasing
Players that harvest items from a monster in the territory can sell harvested products to the lord of the respective manor. Depending on what the harvested item is, there may be those things which can only be sold in one's own territory and others that can be sold more widely in other territories too. The Manor Manager NPC of each village can be used to sell farm products that have been harvested and the lord of the manor can decide in advance on the price and purchase quantity of farm products. When items come in through the Manor Manager, the costs for those items are automatically removed from the castle warehouse and if there is not enough money in the warehouse, the purchasing of farm products is suspended immediately. To restart purchasing, money must be put in the warehouse again.
When reselling items that were harvested through the Manor Manager, the amount received will differ depending on what the method the lord chooses for compensation. If the lord of the respective territory has made it so that compensation is received fairly by everyone, the players that participate in the manor in that territory can expect more stable compensation and if the lord chooses to pay compensation in gambling-type ways, then the players that participate in the manor of the respective territory will expect gambling-type returns. The changing of these compensation factors takes place once per day.
Compensation for farm products harvested is applied differently depending on the types of grains. The items purchased go through a process so that they enter the castle warehouse each day. For example, if the Manor Manager buys ice coda fruit from a player, what is placed into the castle warehouse is actually an ice coda extract that has been processed. 10% of a purchased item that has been processed is paid to the Manor Manager.
Processing
The lord of the manor can process the harvest and produce final products. Final products cannot be sold separately through NPCs and are used directly by the lord of the castle as needed or can be sold through personal shops.
The types of items that can be processed include things like consumable items such as potions that can be used in battle, ingredients for siege weapons to be used in sieges, or ingredients that can't be easily obtained on the market.
Item processing is carried out by the Blacksmith NPC in the castle. The quantities and types of harvested items that can be processed in the castle at this time depend on the rating that is based on how much facilities investment has been made in processing systems.
If a player chooses to invest in production equipment through the chamberlain's menu, the NPC that is in charge of production can process products of somewhat higher added value or higher quantity. When producing items through the blacksmith, certain fees must be paid.
In the event of investing in facilities, the results last for two weeks and even continue for the full term if the lord of the castle changes during the two weeks.
Fishing
Fishing offers a different experience from combat and leveling up. Not only is fishing a great way to relax, you can also catch ingredients for item creation.
Fishing equipment and/or the Fishing skill can be acquired along with other newly added common skills from the Fisherman’s Guild Members dispatched at the grocery store or port of each town.
You will need a Fishing Rod and lures to go fishing. These items can be bought from the store or earned through quests. Fishing rods and Fishing Shots exist by grade (no grade, D, C, B, A, S) and item damage will be applied according to grade. A penalty will be applied when using a fishing rod of a grade incompatible with your character level.
You must master the Fishing skill in order to begin fishing. You can acquire Fishing, Reeling, Pumping, and Fishing Mastery skills by speaking with the Fisherman’s Guild Members stationed in each town or port.
Although not essential for fishing, Fishing Shots will assist you with your fishing. Fishing Shots, like spiritshots and soulshots, can be accessed by double-clicking on them in inventory or registering with shortcuts. The Fishing Shot grade must be compatible to that of the fishing rod, and they can also be earned through quests.
The Fishing Rod is equipped in the weapon slot and the bait in the left hand, like an arrow. Once you equip the rod and use the Fishing skill, you begin to fish.
Once fishing is under way, the Fishing Window will display and an enlarged image of the bobber will appear.
The fishing skills Pumping and Reeling determine fishing success. These skills can also be mastered by paying adena to the Fisherman’s Guild Members. Use the Reeling skill while the fish struggles and resists, and the Pumping skill while the fish is exhausted.
When fishing is under way, the Fishing Window will display. When a fish begins to bite, the HP gauge of the fish and the time allotted to catch it will appear in the Fishing Window. Fishing is successful only if the HP of the fish drops to 0 before the time expires.
Upon successful fishing, fish or treasure chests will be added to the inventory, fishing will end and the Fishing Window will close. When an attempt at catching fish fails, fishing will end and the Fishing Window will close. Fishing will also end if the Fishing skill is re-used during fishing.
If you double-click on fish or treasure chests acquired while fishing, they will turn into other items. These items can be used in common crafting, and certain items can be exchanged for Proof of Catching a Fish with the Fisherman’s Guild Member.
Fishing holes are home to fish abundant enough to enable fishing. Fish usually inhabit waters where the breathing gauge is displayed or regions with unique water quality such as the Goddard Hot Springs. Be wary, as monsters instead of fish may be caught with fishing!
Increasing Fishing Mastery enables catching of higher grade fish. However, higher grade fish are stronger and brighter than lower grade fish, so advanced Reeling and Pumping skills are required to catch them.
A Fishing Manual that provides fishing instructions can be purchased from the Fisherman’s Guild Member. Beginner tips will be provided when fishing with beginner bait. Beginner bait can be bought from the Fisherman’s Guild Member.
If Reeling/Pumping skills exceed Fishing Mastery by more than 2 levels, a penalty will be imposed.
Night Fishing
Night fishing can be done from 12:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m. (game time). Game time can be viewed by typing /time.
Luminous Bait is necessary for night fishing and may be purchased through a Fishermen Guild Member. Luminous Bait can only be used at night. When fishing at night and using Luminous Bait, high quality (high-grade) fish will be tempted to bite.
A high-grade fish can use deceptive skills unlike ordinary fish. When a high-grade fish uses its deceptive skills, reeling and pumping must be used in the opposite way in order to reduce the fish’s HP.
Depending on its type, a high-grade fish may reward you with various “Fish Scale” drops. If you collect enough “Fish Scale” of the same type, you may bring them to a Fishermen Guild Member for additional rewards.
Depending on your fishing mastery level, the types of high-grade fish that can be caught and rewarded fish scales will differ.
Fisherman’s Potions
The Fisherman’s Potion temporarily reduces a player’s fishing mastery level to catch a fish at a desired level. The potion may be purchased from a Fishermen Guild Member. If the potion's level is higher than the user’s fishing mastery level, the potion has no effect. The effect of using a Fisherman’s Potion lasts 60 minutes.
The Fishing Potion restores a player’s fishing mastery level, which was lowered by the Fisherman’s Potion, back to the previous level. The Fishing Potion may be purchased from a Fishermen Guild Member. The Fishing Potion can take effect even though the Fisherman’s Potion was not used previously, therefore please exercise caution when using it.
Fishing King Championship Tournament
The Fishermen’s Guild Members are looking for the top fishermen in the lands of Aden and Elmore. If you’re one of the best fishers, you might win fame and fortune!
The Fishing King Championship Tournament is held on a weekly cycle. Players compete to catch the biggest fish, and the results are ranked based on the size of the fish they caught.
Hope this helps out a bit and good luck guys!

Great post!
I would like to specifically comment on the following:
Lucky drops
Events
Playing the market
Lucky drops
---------------------
In the times of C3 the most widespread word combination was: "Raid Boss". Raid bosses were fun, they dropped yummie things, they gave many experience and SP (skill points). Raids were also very interesting management entities. People wrote articles on group behaviors and the roles of each and every character during boss assault.
If in C3 all Raid Bosses were dead and Rb-groups were swarming around, in Interlude they are all alive and rarely a group will be there to kill one or two of them. Do you want to kill Ragraman - he's up! Liren is up, Lizard, Frog Princess, Pan Dryad - they are all there... it has become extremely difficult to kill them. Besides, the drop rates from RBs decreased significantly, so nowadays RB is just "a hard mob to kill".
I don't recommend killing RBs for the sake of drops... what I do recommend - poling! You spend less money on ss, you kill many mobs, you have good chances to see a full drop.
My best experience:
1) mid-D dagger falling out of a mob in Pilgrims cata (yeah, I think it was Pilgrims). The cost of this weapon in shop gives you around 600k if I remember well.
Events
---------------------
Events has been so far one of the most profitable thing I ever saw in Lineage 2. The only disadvantage here is that events are not there all the time, so if you see an event going - participate!
My best experiences:
1) 2mil adena after 3 days of grind during the Pollen event.
2) 1,5mil adena after 3 hours of grind during Zaken curse event.
My worst experiences:
1) 30% exp, 4000 BSpSD and 80k adena lost during Mad Golems event
Playing the market
---------------------
If you have like 50k in inventory - forget about this and go grind or participate in events. The first most important thing here is: capital! The second thing is: knowledge of the market. For example, the current average price of SSD (SoulShot D-grade) is roughly 14 adena. If you see just one guy looking for fast sale and selling SSD for 12 adena - buy it immediately! Then set your shop overnight and sell for 14 adena. Good chances are that by the end of the night your capital will increase by roughly 16,7%
My best experiences:
1) Bought 80 EAD for 15k and sold all of them the next day for 30-35k. 100% net profit.
2) Bought 6 EWD for 150k and sold over the next three nights for 400k
My worst experiences:
1) Bought 4 EWD for 300k and had to sell them for 295k as the prices were falling down and sometimes reached 250k per item...
One last word concerning trade: BEWARE scammers!
These guys may sell you not 20,000 SSD for 12 adena each, but 12 SSD for 20,000 adena. Always check and recheck... and recheck again the price before confirming.
Well, this is it. Any other suggestions how to get money in L2?

Poling is when u use a pole-axe (spear). The weapon has a aoe-effect. So if u grab aggro from a lot of mobs and run into a cornor u can wipe out like 10 of em in just some "swings".
A healer with u is recommended. Sometime u gonna grab to many and die...but u will learn.
Both dwarf-classes, destroyer and warrior (warlord) can use pole.

My own preference here is a Shilien Oracle (Elder, etc.) due to the fact that they are the only class (except orcs-buffers at higher levels I think) who can provide a poler with Vampiric Rage buff. With this buff I'm able to fight 2 full rooms of lightblue-white mobs and stay with 80-100% HP all the time
